Bible Study with Sara begins this Sunday, September 27, 9:30 a.m., in the church classroom, off the library. All adults welcome! This study will focus on what the Bible has to say about the power of hope to foster resiliency beyond mere endurance in real world challenges. Bring a friend!
Sunday, October 4, 10:30 a.m., we’re joining churches all around the world for World Communion Sunday. If you can read or recite the Lord’s Prayer in a language other than English, please let Pastor Karen know. Hearing people speak this lovely prayer in their heart language all together is unforgettable. Help us make that possible! You’re also invited to bring bread to share from other countries. Bakery or home-baked, it’s all good!
On October 4, we’ll also collect our World Communion offering. Our contributions join those of churches all across the world to serve needs for racial justice, gender justice, peacemaking, global witness, ecumenical & interfaith relations.
Monday, October 5, 6:30-8:30 p.m., is Bring Your Own Art Night in the MVPC fellowship hall. What art or craft project are you working on? Bring it and hang out to work and talk! Don’t have a project? Pastor Karen’s bringing a pick-up project to mess around with, if you want to try something new, or you can color on the giant poster while you chat. Bring a friend!
Calling all pets and their people, Wednesday, October 7, 5-6 p.m.
Bring your pet to the church for an outdoor Blessing of the Animals celebration! Do you have a pet who lives on in your memory? Bring a photo and we’ll give thanks for your memories. Favorite stuffed animals are welcome, too! Pets who like a walk are welcome to join us for a stroll around the neighborhood loop. All pets must be on leads or in carriers, please. If it’s raining, bring your umbrella. Don’t forget to invite friends and neighbors!
